GOOD LUCK TO YOU, LEO GRANDE by Sofija Dimitrijević and Tara Mitrović

From 5 to 9 November, Italian director Lisa Ferlazzo Natoli and her ensemble, lacasadargilla, will explore Good luck to you, Leo Grande by Serbian playwrights Sofija Dimitrijević and Tara Mitrović. Translated into Italian by Valentina Rapetti, this play introduces us to Susan Robinson, a distinguished sixty-year-old professor of religion, as she nervously prepares in a hotel room for an important meeting—determined to experience an orgasm for the first time in her life.

Lisa Ferlazzo Natoli, alongside Emiliano Masala, Tania Garribba, Giacomo Albites Coen, and Anna Mallamaci, will work closely with playwright Sofija Dimitrijević and translator Valentina Rapetti. Together, they’ll delve into the characters and the complexities of translating and adapting the work from Serbian to Italian.

The last day of the workshops, November 9th 2024, will be dedicated to a public opening, inviting directors, artists and professionals to attend the readings of the texts and take part in a session of Q&A shared with all the people involved in the process.

From the author

“My time in Rome was truly transformative for my creative process. It reaffirmed the importance of clear thinking, expressing those thoughts, and collaborating with others to develop and refine them.
We discussed important topics such as the challenges faced by post-Yugoslav society, issues of sexuality, intergenerational problems, and, above all, the new dramatic form that combines classical and innovative dramaturgy.
My collaborators listened, contributed ideas, experimented, and, most importantly, dreamed together—shared imagination is the most beautiful gift for a writer!
Rome feels like a word captured in motion, constantly shifting and growing.”
