R&D WORKSHOP – WILL WE SEE THE SUN? by Nađa Mišković

Teatrul Ariel is excited to welcome Serbian playwright Nađa Mišković for a week-long R&D of her new play Will We See the Sun? During this process, Nađa will explore innovative ways to bring the play’s rich, eerie world to life through animation techniques in theatre, blending shadow play and puppetry. The R&D will also focus on dramaturgical adaptation and translation, creating a safe space for the playwright to navigate challenging themes within a new cultural and linguistic context. For the director and actors, the workshop will provide an opportunity to experiment with diverse dramaturgical tools, breathing life into a coming-of-age story that tackles pressing contemporary issues such as climate change, power dynamics, and hidden family histories. The five-day workshop will culminate in a public presentation of the development work, followed by a post-show discussion on the role of translation in cross-cultural exchange in theatre-making.
