Inizia la carriera come responsabile del dipartimento luci dell’Opera Vlaanderen in Belgio. Da allora disegna le luci di molte produzioni operistiche con Valentina Carrasco, La Fura dels Baus, Robert Carsen.

Con Robert Carsen lavora per Jenůfa, La piccola volpe astuta, Kát’a Kabanová e Richard III alla Vlaamse Opera, Rusalka e Capriccio a Parigi, Fidelio ad Amsterdam e Firenze, Les Boréades a Parigi e New York, Tosca al Liceu di Barcellona, Der Rosenkavalier a Salisburgo, La traviata a La Fenice di Venezia, Elektra a Tokyo, A Midsummer Night’s Dream a Barcellona, Orfeo ed Euridice e Iphigénie en Tauride a Chicago, Iphigénie en Tauride alla Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Madrid e Toronto, Candide alla Scala, all’English National Opera e in Giappone. E ancora, a Strasburgo, L’affare Makropulos, Da una casa di morti e La piccola volpe astuta, quindi Don Giovanni alla Scala, Falstaff alla ROH e alla Scala, JJR a Genova, Platée al Theater an der Wien, Orfeo ed Euridice all’Opera di Roma, Idomeneo, re di Creta a Madrid e poi a Roma, Don Carlo a La Fenice.

Per la Fura dels Baus firma le luci de Les Troyens e, a Taiwan, Valencia, Firenze e Houston, del ciclo del Ring con Carlus Padrissa, mentre con Àlex Ollé e Valentina Carrasco Le Grand Macabre a Bruxelles, ENO, Roma, Adelaide, Barcellona e Buenos Aires, Oedipe a Bruxelles e Buenos Aires.

Per la regia di Valentina Carrasco, il ciclo del Ring al Colón di Buenos Aires, The Turn of The Screw a Lione, Don Giovanni a Perm, La bella dormente nel bosco a Strasburgo Carmen alle Terme di Caracalla e Les vêpres siciliennes al Costanzi per l’Opera di Roma, Aida allo Sferisterio per il Macerata Opera Festival 2021.

Nel 2022 ha realizzato le luci di La Favorite, regia di Valentina Carrasco e L’aio nell’imbarazzo con la regia di Francesco Micheli, entrambi presentati nella stagione del Teatro Donizzetti di Bergamo. Nel 2023 ha cofirmato le scene e firmato le luci di Nixon in China, ancora con la regia di Valentina Carrasco, all’Opéra National de Paris.
