Face à Face in France

Face à Face – Italian Words for French Stages was launched in 2009, as the Italian edition of the project successfully developed by the French Embassy in Rome in 2007.
As the Parisian Théâtre de l’Odéon and Théâtre du Rond-Point, and other six cities (Marseilles, Lille, Grenoble, Rouen, Nantes, Pont-à-Mousson) joined the first edition, the project immediately drew attention from both French audiences and theatres. The second edition took place in 2010 and was extraordinary rich: 10 dates at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris with 7 readings and 5 shows, representative of the contemporary Italian scene. Edition 2010 continued at the actOral festival in Marseille, Les Ateliers theatre in Lyon and the Scènes d’Europe festival at the Comédie de Reims.
The third edition was characterised by a special partnership with the Théâtre de la Ville that hosted shows, readings and meeting from June 4 to 16 2011 within “Chantiers d’Europe”.
New partnerships were born with Marseille actOral festival, Les Ateliers theatre of Lyon and the Maison Antoine Vitez for translations.
For the third edition in 2011, several shows and readings were hosted by new partners such as the Théâtre de la Manufacture – CDN de Nancy Lorraine, Lieux Publics, CNC in Marseilles and Troisième bureau in Grenoble.
